The overall objective is to strengthen Civil Society. The first output of the project will be to have developed a Civil Society Index based on the CIVICUS methodology.
The expected outcome is National financial services industry’s capacity to provide commercial financial services to low-income producers and consumers increased.
The strategy adopted in this area is to provide financial and high-quality technical support to consolidate and build on the gains made to-date in helping the Ministry of Planning and Development to gradually build a national PARPA monitoring system which will ensure that all key performance indicators identified in the PARPA strategic matrices are adequately monitored and reported on.
A Growing Sustainable Businesses (GSB) initiative will be established and will facilitates partnerships within the private sector to support the development of commercially viable business investments that have a positive impact on poverty reduction. Under the local development focus of the CPAP 2007-09 UNDP will seek to focus the implementation of this work in the three provinces where it is concentrating support. This initiative is part of the wider Trade and PS AWP and is jointly done with EPAU.
The overall outcome of the Joint UN Programme for HIV and AIDS is that Individuals, civil society, national and local public and private institutions are empowered to reduce the spread of HIV and AIDS among population at higher risks and mitigate its impact.
The expected outcome is that selected ministries, provincial and district governments, and municipalities have effectively mainstreamed gender into their plans, budgets and plan monitoring processes. The 5 related outputs are
