Será formalmente lançado amanhã, dia 25 de Maio de 2002, às 11.30 horas, o Projecto de Apoio à Planificação e Financiamento Descentralizado às Províncias de Nampula e Cabo Delgado, numa cerimónia que terá lugar em Maputo, no Ministério dos Negócios Estrangeiros e Cooperação.
Maputo, 27 April 2004 – In response to the Mozambican Government official request of last February to the United Nations for assistance to the 2004 third general elections, the UN Electoral Assistance Division is undertaking a mission to Mozambique from 26 April to 5 May 2004.
Maputo – The Canadian Government, through the Canadian International Development Agency, signed on the 9th of September 2004 a Grant Agreement with UNDP to provide assistance to the Mozambican General Elections scheduled for December of this year. The Grant, for Can$ 1.2 Million (approximately US$ 900,000), follows another Grant for the same amount disbursed in 2003 for assistance to the Mozambican Municipal Elections, held last year.
Maputo – Further to the Mozambican Government official request for assistance to the municipal elections of October 2003, the UN Electoral Assistance Division will undertake a mission to Mozambique as of Monday, 5 May.
The mission will be composed of Mr. Nour Eddine Driss, Deputy Director, and Marco Carmignani, Senior Political Officer of the UN Electoral Assistance Division of the United Nations.
Maputo, 17 March 2004 – In April 2003, the Mozambican Government submitted to UNDP an official request for UN assistance to the municipal elections of 2003. The UN Secretary General responded immediately by sending a mission from 4 to 10 May 2003. The main objective of the mission was to assess the national context within which the elections were planned and recommend the appropriate UN assistance, if any, to support their successful organization and conduct.
Since the end of the 80’s, the concept of Growth Triangle has become important, particularly in Asia. It can be defined as international neighboring areas where economic differences can be used to promote international trade and foreign direct investment within South-South Cooperation spirit.
The Fifth Africa Governance Forum (AGF V), scheduled for 23-25 May 2002, will be held this year in Maputo, Mozambique. The Forum will focus on the theme "local governance for poverty reduction". The choice of this theme was agreed during AGF IV in Uganda in 2001. It is in accord with the declaration of the Summit of the OAU Heads of State and Government (2000) that identified local governance as an integral dimension of human development and an important means of reinforcing poverty reduction policies and programmes.

Maputo, 24 de Março de 2003 – Em Abril de 2003, o Governo moçambicano submeteu ao Programa das Nações Unidas para o Desenvolvimento (PNUD) um pedido oficial de assistência às eleições municipais de 2003. O Secretário-Geral das Nações Unidas respondeu de imediato enviando uma missão de 4 a 10 de Maio de 2003. O principal objectivo da missão consistia em avaliar o contexto nacional no qual decorreriam as eleições e recomendar a apropriada assistência das Nações Unidas, se necessário, para apoiar a organização e condução das mesmas com êxito.
Maputo, 6 June 2008 – A seminar aimed at presenting the results a research on the level of knowledge regarding HIV/AIDS in the Justice sector, was held on 6th June, in the Mozambican capital. The event was hosted by the Justice Minister, and in the presidium were also the UN Resident Coordinator and UNDP Resident Representative, a Representative of the National Prisons Director, the National AIDS Council Executive Director, the World Health Organization Representative, and the Representative of UNFPA.
