ICT Human Resources Development

The project is a component of the national ICT Policy Implementation Strategy and targeted at developing the human capacities in new technologies. The objective is to create ICT for development specialists, aware of possibilities of new technologies in reducing poverty and in developing the processes of public administration.

Intended outputs are:

  1. Definition of training packages for educating trainers, civil society trainees and public servants with various technical backgrounds.
  2. Training of ICT specialists (teachers).
  3. Web portal elaborated with relevant and up-to-date information about ICTs for development practitioners;
  4. 25 trainers, 500 certified students (ICT for Development operators) and 1000 public servants successfully trained.

Three training institutions will be established to ensure even geographic distribution of access to training and two additional existing public administration training institutions will be chosen to deliver training packages.

Comments: The project is fully funded by Italy. Up to 2006 Italy was responsible for reporting disbursements. As from 2007 UNDP is responsible for reporting on disbursements.
