UNDP Supports Universidade Eduardo Mondlane and Televisão de Moçambique Capacities

Maputo 13 December 2007 - The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Mozambique signed today a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the historical and largest Public University in Mozambique, Universidade Eduardo Mondlane (UEM).

The Human Development Index Increases in Mozambique, as per the National Report submitted to the President of the Republic, Armando Guebuza, on Monday

Maputo 04 December 2007 - The Human Development Index (HDI) in Mozambique has increased in an annual rate of 3% during the last five years, from 2001 to 2006. The increase covers also the life expectation from 45 years to 47,4 during the same period, as it is reported in the 2007 edition of the National Human Development Report (NHDR).

UNDP Report 2007/8 states that the country contributes 0.0% on global emissions - Mozambique among the countries causing less environmental threat

Maputo, 28 November 2007 - Data from the Global Report on Human Development 2007/2008 indicates Mozambique as one of the countries with negligible participation in the climate changes in the world, as it contributes with 0.0% only of the global emissions.

Civil Society Advisory Committee established to support UN Reform

Maputo, 14 June 2007 - A United Nations Civil Society Advisory Committee (UNCSAC) has been established in Mozambique to assist in the implementation of the accelerated UN reform process in the country. The 25 member committee constituted by a broad spectrum of well known leaders of civil society organizations will help monitor, evaluate and comment on the UN work in the country.

Entrepreneurship curriculum at secondary level schools in Mozambique

Maputo, 11 June 2007- In partnership with the Royal Kingdom of Norway and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), the Government of Mozambique will introduce entrepreneurship curriculum programme at secondary and vocational schools nation-wide.
