4. Key deliverables include

  • The country’s 2nd MDGR in 2005;
  • Mozambique’s second generation of PRSP (PARPA II);
  • NHDR on MDGs in 2006; NHDR 2007 on HIV&AIDS (to be launched on World Aids Day, WAD);
  • Third MDGR and NHDR on ICTs to be launched in 2008;
  • Support to development of the country’s proposal to accede the US MCC funds, which led to the approval of the MCA Mozambique compact, worth $507 million;
  • Development of the MDG-F (Spanish Funds) on economic governance with special emphasis on utilities and the preparation of the UNDAF PLUS (“economic development pillar”);
  • Occasional papers: Documentation study of the development/poverty observatory experiences and a series of Trade related research are underway;
  • MDG needs assessment and costing (on-going). Technical assistance to Ministry of Planning and Development (MPD)
  • Aid Coordination System (on-going) through provision of technical support to both Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation and MPD;
  • Lead role on both, strengthening the role of the Paris Declaration Working Group in the run up to the second OECD/DAC survey (Jan 2008) and the Ghana High Level Meeting (2008).
  • Fund management services to the Integrated Framework for Trade Related Assistance and implementation assistance for projects relating to collection of foreign trade statistics, improvement in regulatory environment for fishery products, knowledge products for trade exporters, and development of industry standards.
  • Strengthening the Legal Framework of Mozambique through greater Understanding, Accession and Participation to Multilateral Trade Treaties undertaken in partnership with ITC.
  • Capacity building for government officials responsible for investment policy and promotion in Mozambique in partnership with the Government of Korea/RBA.
