Gender Mainstreaming
The expected outcome is that selected ministries, provincial and district governments, and municipalities have effectively mainstreamed gender into their plans, budgets and plan monitoring processes. The 5 related outputs are
- Capacities of the National Council for the Advancement of Women (CNAM) strengthened in the areas of policy analysis, the provision of technical assistance, monitoring and reporting on the fulfilment of national and international commitments.
- Guidelines on Gender Mainstreaming for technical staff and planners of selected sectors developed and published, and capacity of target users to use them established.
- Gender assessments and mainstreaming plans produced by staff in selected key sectors.
- Gender mainstreaming training effectively institutionalized within the civil service training system and one higher education institution.
- An adequate network of local capacity-building facilitators established to support ongoing gender mainstreaming processes in the public sector.
