Civil Society Organizations Strengthening

The overall objective is to strengthen Civil Society. The first output of the project will be to have developed a Civil Society Index based on the CIVICUS methodology.

Secondly the project will aim to increase civil society organizations’ capacities to play a more professional role in this monitoring process through their participation in poverty assessments, Governments service delivery assessments and analysis of proposed plans and data for the government-civil society forum (Poverty Observatories) at central and provincial level.

The project will focus on supporting capacity assessments and implementing capacity building programmes as well as sharing experiences with other countries in the region. The work will focused on central level, working with MPD, MF and a number of prioritized ministries, and at local level with a focus on the provinces of Nampula, Cabo Delgado and Gaza. A final intervention will support LINK in the revision of the regulatory framework for Civil Society organisations.
