The Mirror of Narcissus – Knowledge and Self-conscience for a better development of the Mozambican Civil Society

In 2008 UNDP Mozambique supported the development and publication of the CIVICUS Civil Society Index 2007. This publication, The Mirror of Narcissus – Knowledge and Self-conscience for a better development of the Mozambican Civil Society, is a participatory assessment of the former book. It describes the experiences in implementing the Civil Society Index, it tells the lessons learned and recommendations that can be made by the Civil Society itself and the the donors and the government. Published in electronic format by UNDP in March 2011.

Report on the Millennium Development Goals - Mozambique 2010

The Government's publication, made for the World MDG Summit 2010, is based on statistical data from years 2007 or 2008. The sources of statistical data are the Government of Mozambique, National Statistics Institute, and other official sector statistics. Published in January 2011. UNDP Mozambique has technically supported the production of the report.

The book on Gender and Human Rights in Mozambique is the first Mozambican publication to cover human rights from a gender perspective. It is written by Mozambican academics in the fields of law and sociology, and is produced by the Eduardo Mondlane University and UNDP Mozambique. It is published both in English and Portuguese.

Mozambique National Human Development Report 2008

The theme of the 2008 National Human Development Report is the Role of the Information Communication Technologies in Achieving the Millennium Development Goals. The report is a critical study of the conditions and process of integrating the ICTs into the various sectors of social and economic development in Mozambique, in the context of the contribution they can make in the struggle against poverty, and as a result, in the promotion of human development. The benefits of ICTs are reflected in areas such as governance, poverty alleviation, education, health, the environment and community development.

Global Compact Country Report Mozambique

The United Nations Global Compact has established a Regional Learning Forum in Sub-Saharan Africa to promote corporate social responsibility in the region. Global Compact invites companies to adopt the ten principles with the aim of building new coalitions with private stakeholders in order to achieve a more inclusive globalization. Towards that end, the Global Compact has commissioned a survey to assess the effectiveness on how Global Compact Regional Learning Forum is making a difference to corporate social responsibility in sub-Saharan Africa.
