Why:
The role of the police force is of vital importance in establishing trust in the state and its institutions. A safe and secure environment is increasingly being recognized as a prerequisite for development and investments.
UNDP has supported the PRM since 1997. Previous phases notably focused on the establishment of the Academy of Police Sciences (ACIPOL), development of trainings and curricula, the creation of a Strategic Plan (2003-2012), and the rehabilitation of police stations.
