What we do

Poverty and HIV/AIDS

These include efforts related to micro-finance and the development of pro-poor sustainable businesses.

Democratic Governance

In 2010, the Government has approved tne national district planning and budgeting programme to cover all the 128 districs of the country. UNDP continues its support decentralized funds, district development plans, better services, and five Millennium Villages.

UNDP is supporting the strengthening and establishment of mechanisms for the expression of popular will and effective oversight over areas of public interest. This includes support to electoral processes and election management bodies. It also includes support to the legislature, the Parliament, mainly focused on the budget oversight, and the support to implementation of the African Peer Review Mechanism (APRM).

Crisis and Environment

Economic and Policy Analysis

The Economic Policy and Analysis Unit (EPAU) is responsible for providing upstream political analysis in support of political dialogue on development issues. The long term development objective of the Unit is to contribute to the improvement of capacity in policy development, analysis, implementation and research in Mozambique. To achieve this, EPAU provides technical advice and support to the Government, civil society organisations, UNDP's management, and the UN Resident Coordinator.
