Maputo, May 2012  - The AAP’s knowledge management component proudly launched in Maputo, Mozambique, its Knowledge Management Needs Survey Report. The report was launched on May 8th, during the Regional Workshop on the Capitalization of Experience on Climate Change Adaptation.

The report is a broad, research-driven assessment of what the knowledge needs are of AAP countries. It has been produced in order to help these countries capture, share and capitalize on the wealth of climate- and development-related knowledge available.

In Mozambique there is still 16 million square meters of mine suspected area to survey and clear before 1 March 2014.

Maputo, April 2012 -  Australia is continuing to support the Government of Mozambique’s goal to clear all known mined areas in Mozambique by 2014.

Speaking in Maputo during a two days bilateral visit, Australia’s High Commissioner to Mozambique, Ann Harrap, announced that the Government of Australia has committed an additional Aus$3 million over 3 years to support the demining work of the United Nations Development Program and the National Institute for Demining. “This commitment responds to a recent request from Mozambique’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Henrique Banze, to assist Mozambique meet the 2014 demining target ” the High Commissioner said.
