Australia is continuing to support the Government of Mozambique’s goal to clear all known mined areas in Mozambique by 2014.
Speaking in Maputo during a two days bilateral visit, Australia’s High Commissioner to Mozambique, Ann Harrap, announced that the Government of Australia has committed an additional Aus$3 million over 3 years to support the demining work of the United Nations Development Program and the National Institute for Demining. “This commitment responds to a recent request from Mozambique’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Henrique Banze, to assist Mozambique meet the 2014 demining target
